Dear friends,
We are very proud to greet you all in this, our sixth version of SANFIC – Santiago International Film Festival.
We know that every edition represents a greater challenge and we are aware of the importance that SANFIC has for the country and its film industry; particularly this year -when Chile has had to go through difficult circumstances- culture becomes even more indispensable. For this reason, as we have mentioned several times, our goal as founders and co-founders of the festival is to give the city and its inhabitants a space for integration, togetherness and entertainment through the cinema, so as to continue to enable different areas for expression which have a commitment with quality, diversity and plurality.
As a filmic and industrial platform, we are interested in the continuous renewal and construction of new bridges between Santiago and the world, creating greater spaces for exchange between the local and international film industries, so as to boost Santiago and put it in tune with the rest of the cultural capitals of the world. This is why it is very important to us as well as for the organizers of the festival to generate different spaces that allow us to continue the promotion of Chilean cinema.
Just like every year, SANFIC8 will, in nine days, bring together the audiences with directors, producers, distributors, actors, critics and academicians, both Chilean and foreign, transforming the capital and the country into a true cinematographic feast that the whole community can rejoice upon.
In this context, we cannot overlook thanking all the professionals involved in the development and production of this eighth version, and especially the SANFIC main staff.
