Alicia Scherson

In 1994 she left her biology studies to study Cinema at the San Antonio de los Baños Film School in Cuba, EICTV. Her first film “Play” has been awarded, among others, with The “Best Direction Award” at the Tribeca Film Festival and Best First Work Award at the Festival of La Habana.

 

Phillipe Jalladeau

Since 1979, Creator and Director of the Tres Continentes Festival, and from 1966 to 1979, delegate of the French cinematheque of Nantes. Contributor (critics and articles) for varied film magazines such as “Cahier du Cinema”, “Scoop” and “Synopsis”. In 1985 he created a Film School (Cine Sup) in Nantes; from 1985 to 2001, he worked as Script Professor at Cine Sup and from 1998 to 2001 as a Film History teacher at the University of Nantes. Speaker and missionary of the French Government in Latin America, Mid East, and Central Asia. Artistic Advisor for several Mid East festivals. Creator of the weekly magazine “Produire au Sud”2000. Jury member of several international festivals such as: Damas, Alexandrie, Mascate, Tbilisi, Bogotá, Rabat, Zanzibar, Teheran, Rome. International Script author and “Script Doctor”.

Peter Scarlet

Peter Scarlet has served since November 2002 as Executive Director of the Tribeca Film Festival, before his appointment in New York; Mr.Scarlet had served in Paris as Director General of the Cinémathèque Française. He has worked for 19 years (1983-2001) as Artistic Director of the San Francisco International Film Festival in addition to serving as the organization’s Executive Director from 1989-1995. In 1986 he helped create a new Festival award for lifetime achievement by a film director. Actors too were honored by the San Francisco IFF during this period. In 2001, France’s Ministry of Culture named Mr. Scarlet an Officer in the Order of Arts and Letters.

Klaus Eder

Klaus Eder Works as film critic from the middle of the 60s, currently for the national public radio (“Bayerischer Rundfunk”) and for daily newspapers, and specialist magazines. German filmmaker and author, Programmer of the Munich International Film Festival (in charge, among others, of Latin American cinema), and adviser for a variety of festivals. General Secretary of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI). As he grew up with the authors’ cinema of the late 60s (the French and German ‘new waves’), he prefers films which have to say something to Hollywood entertainment.

Carlos Flores Delpino

He studied Veterinary Medicine at the Universidad Austral de Chile, Acting and Film at the School of Communication Arts of Universidad Catolica, and Literature at the Department of Humanistic Studies of Universidad de Chile. He is Qualified in Cultural Critic at the University Arcis, and got his Degree on Theory and Art’s History at Universidad de Chile. From his work it has been emphasized the National Critic’s Award “Pepo Donoso”, and “El Charles Bronson Chileno”. Nowadays he works as Academic Director at the Chilean Film School, which he founded, and as a holder Professor at the Workshop of Movie Production.

 

José Luis Torres Leiva

Along his career he has made an important number of shorts and independent videos. Nowadays he is preparing his first full-length film: “El cielo, La tierra y la Lluvia” for which he received the Fundacion Carolina’s Grant, The Hubert Bals Fund from the Rótterdam Film Festival, the Honorable Mention in the II Bal of the Buenos Aires Independent Film festival, the Fonds Sud Cinéma from Francia and it was selected for the Atelier of Cannes Film Festival 2006. His short “Obreras saliendo de la Fábrica” for which he won the Gran Premio at the Festival de Bilbao (Zinebi) Spain, the Grand Prix from the Drama Festival of Greece and the Best short Award at the Festival Las Américas in United States of America.

Augusto Góngora

Augusto Góngora has participated as producer, host and scriptwriter in several TV shows such as”: El Mirador”, “El show de los libros”, “Tierra Adentro”, “Cine Video” y “La Cultura Entretenida”. Nowdays he is the host for “Hora 25”, which is broadcasted on TVN. He was a co-scriptwriter for the full-length film “Dos mujeres de la ciudad”, directed by Claudio Di Girolamo. Since 1975 to 1981 he worked as a cinema teacher at the Journalism School at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He has also directed the documentaries: “Los niños prohibidos” (Ictus), “La comunión zde las manos” (Ictus), “Conversaciones con el Cardenal Silva” (Ictus) y “La semilla del viento” (Consejo Mundial de Iglesias).

Gonzalo Justiniano

Director, producer, and scriptwriter of most of his movies which are been widely awarded: Hijos de la guerra fría (1985), Ópera Prima Award at Biarritz; “Amnesia” (1994), Audience Award at the Berlin International Festival, and Best Movie Award at Gramado; “Tuve un sueño contigo” (1999), Claqueta Award and Best Latin American Movie at the San Sebastian Festival; “El Leyton” (2001). “B-Happy” got the C.I.C.A.E. Award at the Berlín Fórum, and Special Mention of the Don Quijote Award, at the Berlin International Film Festival, the Contemporary World Cinema Award at the Toronto International Film Festival, The Cultural Diversity Award at the Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival, and the Second Coral Award at the Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano de la Habana.
